Marlene Dudek
August 2, 1939 — December 14, 2024
Marlene J. Dudek, Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. Marlene was the daughter of Walter and Irene Gielarowski and grew up in Chicago. She was very close to her 2 brothers, Jerry and Ray, and as a family spent many holidays and vacations together.
She met her husband Chester at a Polish dance in 1960, and they married in 1961. Together they had twins, Mike and Steve, and their daughter Cindy. Marlene and Chester loved to travel together and her favorite destination was Hawaii, which she visited over 25 times. She was a world traveler and visited many countries with her husband, friends, and family.
Marlene’s 30-year career at United Airlines started in 1971, as part of the airline cleaning crew. She also worked as a cleaning scheduler, a maintenance scheduler, and spent several years in general reservations. Marlene retired in October 2001.
Her favorite past times included traveling, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. She always offered an open door for friends to join in her holiday gatherings, and looked forward to holidays with family and friends.
After the passing of her husband in 2007, Marlene continued to live in their home on the golf course in Streamwood and she enjoyed taking her children and grandchildren on family vacations to fun destinations. For the last year and a half, she lived at The Oaks of Bartlett, where she made new friends with many residents and staff. She enjoyed her final Thanksgiving at Steve and JoNell’s house with her family.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Chester, her brother Jerry and her son in-law Willis. She leaves behind her children Mike, Steve (JoNell), Cindy and her grandchildren Heather (Kevin) Albi, Nicolas, Scott and Jessica and great-grandson Elias Albi.
Visitation Wednesday December 18, 2024 3:00pm until 8:00pm at the Countryside Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood. Funeral Mass Thursday December 19, 2024 10:00am at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery. Info
