It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark W. Bongean, who left this world on Wednesday, April 1st, 2026. Mark was born on Tuesday, October 25th, 1966, and shared his remarkable journey with us for 59 years.
Mark was a man of many passions and talents. His deep appreciation for music was evident in his love for playing the guitar, of which he owned several. He had a natural rhythm that resonated not just in his music but also throughout his life. Mark was a dedicated professional in the logistics industry, known for his hard work and commitment.
Life took Mark on numerous adventures, as he delighted in traveling and exploring the wonders of the world. He was an avid golfer, always ready for a game with friends and family, relishing the challenge and camaraderie of the sport. His curiosity extended to the culinary arts as well, and he was a self-described "foodie," savoring diverse cuisines and sharing meals with loved ones.
Mark's legacy is carried forward by his beloved daughters, Dominique (James) Bonilla and Jacquelin Bongean, who were the pride and joy of his life. He is survived by his cherished parents, Wayne and Heather Bongean; his devoted sisters, Meredith (Lane) Soelberg and Allison (Kraig) Olsen; and his adoring nephews, Logan, Griffen, Korey, and niece Skylar.
To honor Mark's memory, a Memorial Visitation will be held at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory of Bartlett, Bartlett, IL, on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life and the indelible marks he left on all those who knew him.
