Marjorie Paton

Marjorie I. Paton (nee Schmidt), 93, of Elgin formerly of Park Forest, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Marjorie grew up on the southside of Chicago having graduated from South Shore High School. She met her husband Frank while a senior there and they were married in 1949. Frank worked for a large company and because of this they moved several times. Marjorie served in every community she belonged to and took great pride in making others’ lives better. She loved music and dancing together with Frank for several years, especially when square dancing with good friends. Marjorie enjoyed many things, but took her greatest pride in making people feel good. Beloved wife of 71 years to the late Frank; loving mother of Richard (Kim), James (Robin), Roni Rega, and Cindy (Tom) Kusswurm; proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; fond sister of the late Richard (the late Marilyn) Schmidt and the late Ronald (the late Joan) Schmidt; caring aunt to many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews whom she always looked forward to spending time with at family reunions. Visitation Saturday, June 25 from 9:00am until time of service 11:00am at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert St. (at State St.), South Elgin.
