Elgin

Marjorie M. Gallagher passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16th, 2026, at her home in Elgin, Illinois. Born on Monday, April 18th, 1960, Marjorie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family, friends, and passions.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Gallagher, with whom she shared nearly 38 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life and a family that was her greatest joy. Margie was a loving mother to her children: Caitlin Ayala, Meagan (Evan Pecora) Gallagher, Patrick Gallagher, and Kyle (Camryn) Gallagher. She was the cherished "GiGi" to her granddaughter Morgan, who was truly the light of her life.

Family meant everything to Margie, and she was the loving daughter of Marjorie B. Kempf, dear sister of Shari (Jerry) Drije and sister-in-law of Mike (Lisa) Gallagher. She treasured her role as an aunt to Dykota Drije, Sean (Abby Diesing) Gallagher, and Dan (Marra Oldencamp) Gallagher. Marjorie was also a devoted dog mom to Chloe, Kodi, and Kaner. Her father, Charles G. Kempf predeceased her, and she now joins him in eternal rest.

Marjorie enjoyed life's simple pleasures, finding immense joy in gardening and her love for flowers. She possessed a passion for travel, particularly enjoying trips to new wineries with her family and friends. An avid reader, she delighted in losing herself in the pages of a good book. Margie was also known for her fondness for owls, collecting owl trinkets wherever she went. She loved visiting flea markets, always on the hunt for unique treasures.

Her dedication to her family and her pride in her role as both a mother and a grandmother were evident to all who knew her. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the legacy of her love and devotion remains with those she leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd. Bartlett, IL 60103. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of your choice in memory of Marjorie's generous spirit and her love for the simple joys in life.

Marjorie's love, laughter, and light will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
