Marjorie Engel, a cherished resident of Roselle and a dedicated servant to her community and church, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11th, 2026, at the age of 98.
Born on February 23rd, 1928, Marjorie lived a life steeped in love, service, and commitment to her family and friends. A devoted wife to her late husband Alfred, with whom she shared 70 wonderful years of marriage, Marjorie was the bedrock of her family, nurturing and guiding with grace.
She is survived by her loving children: Joan (Steve) Johnsen, Judy (Kenneth) Ibeling, Jim (Paulina) Engel, and Jeffrey Engel. Remembered as a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother, Marjorie showered her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with endless love and wisdom. Her sister, Janet (the late John) Schockmel, also mourns her passing, cherishing the shared memories and deep bond they had.
Marjorie's contributions to Roselle were abundant, as she was an avid volunteer and a true steward of her community. Her lifelong commitment to Trinity Lutheran Church was exemplified by her unwavering service and devotion. Over the years, she formed and treasured many great friendships, enriching her life and the lives of those around her.
Family and friends are invited to gather in memory of Marjorie during the visitation on Monday, September 14th, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Countryside Funeral Home, 333 South Roselle Rd, Roselle. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 405 Rush Street, Roselle. Following the service, Marjorie will be laid to rest at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
