Marilyn Schiferl

May 31, 1937 — December 13, 2018

Marilyn Jean Schiferl, nee Hornig, of Bartlett, wife of the late Thomas; mother of Theresa, Lynn (Jim) Boyle, Marge (Anne) Hewett, Beth, Mark, Katrina Schock, Jeff (Jenny), Tommy and the late Joe; grandma of Amanda, Ashley (Anthony), Abby, Lauren, Steven, Brandon, Cody, Grant and Megan; great grandma of Parker; sister of Art (Pat) and Bill; daughter of the late Arthur and the late Marie, nee Kimmey. Marilyn and her husband Tom had a strong faith and believed in giving back to their community and to their church. Marilyn was very active in both the Boys and Girls Scouts in Bartlett and ran the concession stand for Bartlett Little League for many years. She also volunteered every year on the 4th of July Committee and made doughnuts to help raise money for St. Peter Damian. Her family also had a summer home on Lake Wisconsin where they would go to get away. Marilyn will forever be remembered for her gentle smile, generosity and always taking care of others before her own needs. Visitation Sunday 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 South Gilbert St. (at Middle St.) SOUTH ELGIN. Funeral Monday 9:30 am prayers at the funeral home going to St. Peter Damian Church. Mass 10:30 am. Cremation will be private at the Countryside Funeral Home following mass.
