Marilyn Miskinis

October 30, 1943 — December 17, 2023

Marilyn Jean (Urschel) Miskinis, 80, of Streamwood for over 56 years, devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed away on December 17, 2023. Marilyn was born October 30, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio. Marilyn moved to Mansfield in 1956 where she graduated valedictorian of her high school class at St. Peter's. Marilyn went to the College of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois and graduated with a bachelor's degree majoring in mathematics. She met the love of her life while in college and married Robert Miskinis on August 7, 1965. Marilyn was a schoolteacher until she had two daughters. After caring for her young girls, she went back to work for First Chicago Bankcard where she worked until her retirement.

Marilyn loved to bake cookies for family, friends and church. She enjoyed genealogy and scrapbooking. You could also count on Marilyn for a good shopping trip, especially with a coupon. She also made sure to never miss sending a thoughtful card for a special occasion or just to make feel important and loved. Marilyn was fortunate to be able to travel to many places here and in Europe, making some of her dearest friends along the way.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Robert Miskinis, daughters Lori (Corey) Pelland, Lynette (Michael)Rajterowski, grandchildren Jacob Rajterowski, Emily Pelland, Nicholas (Elly) Pelland, Katelyn Rajterowski, Joshua Pelland and Zachary Pelland. She is survived by her sister Carol (Urschel) Leppo and brother Kenneth Urschel, many nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Mary (Smith) Urschel and her sister Janet (Urschel) Hrivnak.

Cremation is private at the Countryside Crematory. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 20, 2024 with 10:00a.m. Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Streamwood, IL., interment following at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine, IL and luncheon afterwards. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
