Marie Keeney

Marie Alice Keeney, 90, fierce head of the Keeney clan, died peacefully in her sleep. She is survived by favorite sister, Dolores (Lorie) née Keeney (the late Tom Fleming), as well as her beloved nieces Sheila, Colleen, and Maureen Fleming, and cousins in both the US and Ireland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Anna Keeney, and her siblings: Jackie, Joseph, Patricia, Jimmie, and Paul. A graduate of St. Genevieve's Grammar School and St. Patrick's High School for Girls, Chicago, Marie took great pride in her Irish heritage which began in Teelin, Ireland. Marie became a world traveler and a proud employee of CB&Q Railroad and Combined/AON Insurance. Devoted to her volunteer work at Misericordia Chicago, Marie would have appreciated a donation to Misericordia In lieu of flowers. Visitation Monday, September 25th 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel at Clare Oaks, 801 Carillon Dr., Bartlett. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery.
