Marie Berghuis, aged 76, passed away on October 20, 2024, in Glendale, AZ, USA. Born on August 15, 1948 in Mola di Bari, Italy. Marie was known for her family-oriented, caring nature, and being a loyal friend to many. She enjoyed being the best Nonna to her wonderful Grandchildren.

Marie graduated from Fenton High School and dedicated much of her life to her family and community. Her hobbies included bowling, bocce, gardening and travel, each of which she pursued with enthusiasm and joy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Leonard; daughter, Lisa; son-in-law, Phil; brother, Carmine; sister-in-law, Barb; Linda; sister-in-law, granddaughter, Annalise; and grandson, Archer. Marie was preceded in death by her father, Nicola; mother, Crescenza; son, James; and brother, Joe.

Marie's warmth, loyalty, and caring nature will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Countryside Funeral Home from 3pm-9pm, 95 S. Gilbert Street, South Elgin, IL 60177. Interment on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 12:30pm.
