Maria Dow

Maria M. Dow, 88, of Huntley, IL passed away on February 18, 2025.  She was born on December 26, 1936 in Germany to her parents Johann and Maria Perschke.

Maria is the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Joseph Dow; loving mother of Elizabeth (Wayne) Ewald, the late Richard Dow, Michael (Debra) Dow and Ken (Ann) Dow; cherished grandmother of Christine (Jon Allgeyer) Ewald, Dawn (Tyler) Smolczyk, Emily Dow, Bradley Dow, and Myles Dow; loving sister of Heidi Schwarz, the late Manfred Perschke, Helmut Perschke and the late Gerard Perschke; dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Maria was a devoted and hardworking woman who took great pride in her German heritage, cherishing the opportunities she had to reconnect with childhood friends in her homeland. She was incredibly loving and generous, always putting others before herself. Maria found joy in spending time with her family, knitting cozy slippers, and volunteering at her church and as an election judge. Above all, Maria’s greatest love was for her grandchildren, whom she adored more than anything in the world. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 9:00 am until time of Memorial Mass 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee-Huntley Rd, Huntley, IL 60142.  Inurnment will be held subsequently at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, 1185 W Algonquin Rd, Palatine, IL. Please meet at the main office for directions to the grave site.
