Maria de Jesus Cardenas (nee Garduno), 48, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family June 29, 2014. Maria was the beloved mother of Monica, Sergio, and Kasandra Cardenas; cherished daughter of Armando and Maria Garduno; loving sister of Elitania (David) Venturella, Armando (Martha Hernandez) Garduno, and Osbaldo (Sandra) Garduno.
Family was very important to Maria, especially spending time with her children. She enjoyed Bible study classes and will be remembered for cracking jokes with her witty style.
Visitation for Maria Wednesday July 2, 3:00p.m. – 9:00p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert Street (at Middle Street) South Elgin. Funeral Thursday 9:15a.m. to St. Thomas More Church Mass 10:00a.m. Following services cremation will take place privately at Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 would be appreciated.
