Margie Smith

Margie G. Smith, 85, nee Dreux, formerly of Chicago; loving wife for 50+ years of the late William C.; mom of Cindy (Todd) Ward, Joe (Carol) and the late Art; grandma of Charlie (Janine), Amy (Frank) Tagoe, Kristie, Joey and William; great grandma of Taylor, Michael, Christopher, Maddison, Maya and Franky; sister of Bunky (late Art) Latina and the late Big Boy and late Harry (late Dorothy); mother in law of Mary Ann (Gerry) Hizer; aunt of many nieces and nephews, cousin to many and friend to all who met her. Margie also held a special place in her home and heart for two dogs Lady and Krueger both German Shepherd mix rescue dogs. After William passed away Margie traveled when she could - visiting Europe, Vegas and going on cruises. She was always on the go, often times with her daughter by her side. When back home she would do crafts and work on her find a word books. Always a positive person. If you met her you loved her. She will be missed by many. Visitation Thursday 3:00 pm until time of service 7:30 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory following services.
