Margaret-Anne (“Anne”) Sisson, 70, of Bloomingdale, Illinois, passed away on April 30, 2017. Born December 24, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Florence K. and Henry A. Tworek. She graduated from Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1965 and received her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
On December 4, 1976, Anne married her husband of more than forty years, Alan Lee Sisson, in Northbrook, IL. They had one daughter, Karen Anne, in 1978, Anne always referred to her daughter as her “greatest work of art.”
Anne was a brilliant and supremely talented artist. She worked as a surgical and medical illustrator and was an accomplished wildlife artist. Her work has been featured and published in multiple periodicals and textbooks. Her work has been exhibited in esteemed galleries and art shows all across the country, including the Eastern Waterfowl Festival in Maryland, the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., the Southeast Waterfowl Exhibition in Charleston, South Carolina, the San Bernadino Museum in Redland, California, The Intown Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio, and her work appeared on the cover of Bird Watcher’s Digest. Her paintings and sculptures are in numerous private collections throughout the world including a commissioned painting of their mascot, an artic Gyrfalcon, for the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Anne was also a master floral designer.
Her beautiful and colorful life will be forever remembered by her loving husband, Alan, her daughter, Karen (Enosh Kelley) of Urbandale, Iowa; her grandson, Sullivan; her twin brother, James (Angela) Tworek of West Chicago; her nephews and niece, David, Andrew and Debra; her brother-in-law, Robert Sisson, of Ft. Myers, FL; and several cousins throughout the country.
A gathering for friends and family wishing to pay their respects will take place on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 5:00pm until time of memorial service 7:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home, 333 South Roselle Road(1/2 mile south of Irving Park Rd.), Roselle.
