Marcia L. Weirich
June 27, 1949 - June 20, 2021
Marcia, the first of six children of the late William Weirich and Betty (Sund) Weirich, grew up in
Batavia, Illinois and was a 1967 graduate of Madonna High School in Aurora, Illinois.
Marcia married Ronald G. Doeringsfeld of Elgin, Illinois in 1976 and was widowed in 1980.
Following the tragic passing of her beloved Ron, Marcia devoted herself fully and unequivocally
to the task of successfully raising their four young children.
Marcia was dedicated first and foremost to her devout Catholic faith and prayer life; if you are
reading this it is likely you were also “tucked into her prayers” on one or more occasions.
A lifelong lover of animals and the natural world, Marcia tenderly nursed, nurtured and cared for
many, many of God’s creatures, both wild and tamed, throughout her years.
Marcia tirelessly built and tended to unique and beautiful gardens on her homestead in rural
North Dakota, growing food, flowers and herbs while never considering any plant to be a “weed”
- all things living and growing were God’s gifts in her eyes.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marcia is preceded in death by sister Marjorie Weirich.
Marcia is survived by daughter Suton Doeringsfeld and her children Hazel & Harry Cicero, son
Basil Doeringsfeld (Valerie) and their children Jack and Samantha Doeringsfeld, son Blake
Doeringsfeld (Lisa) and their children Fionn, Killian, Rónán, Conor and Tadhg Doeringsfeld,
daughter Olivia (Doeringsfeld) Woodall (Kevin, deceased) and their children Madeline Bromley,
Jessie, Gunner, Delaney, Brogan & Piper Woodall & Olivia and Kevin’s grandson Javion Jones,
brother Bill Weirich (Susie), sister Catherine Weirich, brother Joe Weirich (Peggy), sister Mary
(Weirich) Singer (Tim), an aunt & many cousins, nieces and nephews.
