It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maniphet Khanthaphixay on August 14, 2024 at the age of 79. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend.
Maniphet was born on December 9, 1944. She married the late Amphone Khathakhanthaphixay on October 30, 1965 and they had four children. The family immigrated to the United States in 1979.
She is survived by her four children, Phonemany (Scott) Santana, Sisavads (Alouny) Khanthaphixay, Rattana (Brenda) Khanthaphixay, and Manisone (Matt) Lodge. Family was most important to her and she always guided everyone around her to be the best they could be.
Intelligent beyond her time she was always open to new possibilities. She never lost her sense of wonder and spent her last years traveling the world. She spent her time fundraising and supporting various Buddist temples and the Lao Teachers Association which she belonged to for most of her life.
She left us in the early morning, and since she never said good-bye, it’s hard to think she’s gone. She left us weeping, lonely and with aching hearts; but we know the angels are keeping her in heaven. Her life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, the lives she touched, and the love she shared. She will be in our hearts, but her legacy will bloom eternally in the hearts of those she has left behind.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 23 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 S. Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.), Bartlett IL, 60103. The funeral will take place on Saturday August 24 at Countryside Funeral Home & Crematory from 1:00pm until time of cremation 4:00pm. All friends and family are welcome and appreciated at the events.
