Vistitation for Mamie R. Zavila nee Covington of Hoffman Estates, will be held Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. until time of service, 7:30 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1640 S. Greenmeadows Blvd. (at Barrington Road) Streamwood/Schaumburg. Entombment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park, 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie. (Meet at the Cemetery office).
Born December 11, 1924 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Mamie died peacefully at home,Tuesday, October 2, 2012 with her family by her side.
She is the beloved wife of the late James; loving mother of Patricia (David) Howard, Robert (Deborah) and Terry (Daniel) Ahern; cherished grandmother of Jamie Zavila, Kristie (Randall) Rathmann, Stacy (Martin) Michalski and Robert J. Zavila; great grandmother of Addison & Connor Rathmann; oldest of 10 and daughter of the late Eliza "Mary" Covington. She was a waitress at Marshall Fields in Woodfield Mall for many years and was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Schaumburg, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Schaumburg or Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated.
