Luz Garcia, 99, of Streamwood IL passed away on February 5, 2025. He was born on April 26, 1925 in El Salvador to his parents Teodulo and Juana Garcia.
Luz Garcia is the beloved Husband to his wife of 61 years Nellie Garcia, loving father to his daughter Rosalba (Samson) Pillay and his son Henry (Tammy) Garcia. He was a caring grandfather to his four grandchildren Camryn, Andrew, Alex, and Ava.
Luz served as the Commander of the National Police in El Salvador for 25 years, followed by 7 years serving in the Security Detachment of the American embassy in El Salvador. He also enjoyed writing, photography, and spending time with his family.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 1:30 pm at Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 South Greenmeadows Blvd. Streamwood, IL 60107. Cremation will be private. For information, please contact Countryside Funeral Home, 630-289-8054.
