It is with profound love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Gino, an 86-year-old devoted husband, proud Italian, and truly selfless man whose life was defined by sacrifice, generosity, and an unwavering love for his family.
Born in Italy, Gino came to the United States with his family, carrying with him a deep sense of responsibility, strength, and quiet determination. He worked tirelessly in construction to build a better life for those he loved. Every hardship he faced was endured without complaint and with quiet dignity—always putting his family before himself, often with a warm smile that could light up a room.
Gino was a man who gave endlessly and asked for nothing in return. He would have taken the shirt off his own back to help anyone in need. Whether tending to his garden or casting a line while fishing, even his greatest joys became ways to give to others—sharing the vegetables he grew, offering his time, his wisdom, and his presence. His kindness was steady, his generosity boundless.
He may never have hit it big in slots or at the casino, but he was truly lucky in life—rich in family, surrounded by dear friends, and blessed with endless love.
Above all, Gino lived for his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Tina, his partner in life and love. He leaves behind his two daughters, Maria and Anna, and his cherished sons-in-law, Christopher Bourne, beloved husband of Maria, and Timothy Byrne, beloved husband of Anna. His greatest pride and joy were his five treasured grandchildren—Jacob, Trevor, Timmy, Alyssa, and Blake—each of whom he loved beyond measure. Everything he did, he did for them.
Gino will be remembered not only for his strength and tireless work ethic, but for his quiet sacrifices, his humble heart, and the countless ways he put others before himself. His legacy is one of love, selflessness, and devotion that will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
Friends and family are invited to honor Gino's memory at a visitation on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Countryside Funeral Home, 95 S. Gilbert St. South Elgin, IL. A Funeral Mass will then follow at 10:30 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church Downtown, 400 Cedar St, St. Charles, IL 60174. Interment Prairie Cemetery, St. Charles, IL.
He will be deeply missed and forever held in our hearts.
