Louis Schaefer

Louis H. Schaefer was born August 9, 1934 to the late Olive and Elmer Schaefer in Streator. He passed away peacefully at home in Niles on December 10, 2017 surrounded by family. Louis married his sweetheart of 36 years, Diane. He was the loving father of Victoria (Eric) Pingul and Kristina; proud grandfather of Brianna and Emma Pingul; cherished brother of Evelyn (John) Schmitz. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Louis served our country proudly as a Senior Master Sargent in the Air Force for 28 years. He went on to work as an Air Traffic Control Specialist. Louis lived an adventurous lifestyle and enjoyed traveling, fishing, gambling, and even going on roller coasters with his grandchildren. He was a huge Cubs fan. Visitation Sunday, 1:00p.m. until the time of service 4:30p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 S. Roselle Road (1/2 mile South of Irving Park Road) Roselle.
