Louis P. Commers, age 71, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 20, 2021 after an 8 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Lou is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara (Hock), his son Edward (Amanda), daughter Kelly (Adam) Reed and his sister Susan (Donald) Glashagel and many nieces and nephews.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph (Lefty) and Ann, his brother John and brother-in-law Thomas.
Lou was "Papa Lou" to his grandchildren, Emma, Kevin, Olivia and Sayje. He loved being around them. Any time something was broken, they would say "Call Papa Lou, he can fix anything" and most of the time he could.
Lou was a Chicago White Sox fan, and a Green Bay Packer fan (much to the dismay of his wife). He loved everything about golf, watching it on television, helping others learn the game and most importantly playing golf.
He also loved to work on old cars, rebuilding and repairing them with his good friend Bill.
In keeping with Lou's wishes, there will be no wake or funeral. He requested that if anyone wanted to make a donation to the family, it will be deposited in the grandchildren's medical trust funds.
