Lorraine Dona Palma (nee Garofolo)
of Schaumburg formerly of Hoffman Estates for over 50 yrs.
Lorraine was born in Chicago, Feb 5, 1928 & passed away April 28, 2013. Beloved angel and wife of Thomas Palma, for 67 glorious years. Loving matriarch and mother to Thomas (Kathy) Palma, Kathleen (Michael) Reilly, and Joseph (Bonnie) Palma. Loving and affectionate grandmother to Frank Barrile 1V, Amy Barrile, and Thomas Palma. Also, survived by her nephews Gary, Johnny, Joseph, Michael and nieces Terry, Karen, Denise and Gina and families and sister-in-law Connie Walsh.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her dear mother, Katherine Swanson (nee Gervase) and loving sister Jacqueline Gruendeman, also of Hoffman Estates and her father Sam Garofolo of Chicago.
Lorraine was a friend and mother to all and will be missed. She loved to go out dancing with her friends to Navy Pier during the 1940's. She and Tom were married in Northfolk, VA while he was in the Navy after his tour of duty. They moved from Chicago in 1955 and settled in Parcel A in Hoffman Estates where they lived for over 50 years. She loved her job as a realtor for Jack Kemmerly Real Estate and the friends she made along the way.
We will miss the smell of spaghetti and meatballs when we walk into the house but we will especially miss her smiling face and laugh.
Memorials in memory of Lorraine would be appreciated to the National Kidney Foundation or American Heart Assoc.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
