Visitation for Lorne Russell Young, of Carol Stream will be held Tuesday 4:00 - 8:30p.m. at Bloomingdale Church 264 Glen Ellyn Rd. Bloomingdale, IL 60108. A memorial service will be held at the church Wednesday 10:30a.m. Family friend, Reverend Chris Winkler will be officiating. Interment will be private.
Lorne died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, Dec. 23, 2010. He was born June 3, 1943 in Chicago, IL to the late Marie nee Stanford and Russell Lorne Young. Lorne proudly served in the Army as a mechanic in the Vietnam conflict.
He retired from his job as building engineer for Hamilton Partners in Downers Grove in 2008. Since then, he has been working part time as a mechanic for family and friend owned business, BSC Enterprises, in Naperville, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Georgeanne "Jan" Young, who he married June 30, 1990; his children Russell Lorne Young, Jeanette (Tony) Pytlak, Laura Young, Kristy (Jeff) Gablin, Betsy (Scott) Boyd, Tim (Pam) Buchiet, KC (Malissa) Bucheit; grandchildren Rhiannon and Tiernan Pytlak, Joshua, Tim and Sara Gablin, Derek, Asha and Ty Joran Boyd and Noah Bucheit.
Lorne was a problem solver and helper of many - his specialties were HVAC, electrical, car and camper repair and maintenance. His other interests wer camping, NASCAR, woodworking and yard work.
