Lois Jean Szarz (Nee Netrefa) passed away on February 11 at the age of 85. She was born on July 28, 19285 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Alma Netrefa.
She married the love of her life Richard A. Szarz on September 17, 1949.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years Richard, daughters Karen (Maury) Daubs and Joan (Karlton) Bolthouse, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Lois lived most of her life in the Chicago area. She lived to love and support her family in all aspects of their lives.
She enjoyed traveling, golf, cooking, shopping and playing cards. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and neighbors.
Lois loved decorating for all of the holiday seasons. She never forgot a birthday or forgot to say thank you for even the simplest gift of kindness.
Lois brought a lot of happiness to her family over the years. The sparkle in her eye as well as her easy smile and laugh are shard in both her daughters.
She was a loving wife and mother to us who were fortunate enough to share in her family. She was also grandmother and great grandmother to nine very lucky children. She was loved more than she will ever know and will be greatly missed.
A memorial to celebrate her life and honor her passing will be held on March 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 405 S. Rush St., Roselle. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
