Liz Emerson

January 14, 1959 — January 28, 2018

Elizabeth (Liz) Ann Emerson, 59, of Hanover Park, Illinois, was called home by God on Sunday, January 28, 2018. She was born January 14, 1959 to Richard and Luz Schleif in Elgin, Illinois. Liz worked as a nurse at Elgin Mental Health Center for 25 years. Throughout Liz’s life she shared her values of faith, family, love, sisterhood, and friendship. She was a faithful Christian and a generous, warm-hearted woman who included everyone. This loving and generous nature was a foundation of her life no matter who was involved: her son, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, friends, or strangers. She had a reserved place in her heart for the needy. She took in and took care of so many different people throughout her life. It is difficult to name them all, but we are all better people because of her generosity.
Liz is survived by her only child, son Daniel (Shannon) Emerson, brother George (Karen) Schleif, sister Sele Hufton, sister Patricia (Eli) Mancilla, sister Kathy (Bill) Hobbs, Sister Jeri (Jim) Hill, sister-in-law Theresa Tucker, sister-in-law Rhonda Pyle, brother-in-law Rod Howard, grandchildren Quinn and Ian Emerson, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
