Lisa Medendorp, age 56 of Bartlett, IL, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 24, 2025. She was born on September 18, 1969 in Chicago, IL to the late Raymond and Cindy Shipley.
Lisa graduated from the National College of Chiropractic with a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine. She married Dan Medendorp on June 16, 2001 and had four children who were the light of her life. She dedicated her life to family and the school communities. She volunteered for school activities and led organizations, including many seasons for the Bartlett High booster clubs. In her own special way, she connected with countless students while substitute teaching. She loved playing volleyball and pickleball with friends and family.
Lisa was people’s biggest cheerleader; whether showing up to her kid’s sports games, watching their college teams, or playing cards with Bartlett friends and extended family, Lisa was always excited to celebrate people’s wins.
Lisa will be remembered for her untiring effort to help others, infectious smile, boundless generosity, and commitment to her family. She focused on nourishing those around her, always offering her time and presence generously. She made friends easily and seemed to know someone everywhere she went. Lisa was full of joy and spread it with everyone around her, making everyone feel loved.
She is survived by her husband Dan; children Connor, Riley, Spencer and Macy; siblings Patrick(Hope), Scott, Sean(Marsha), Chris(Joanna) and Shannon; nieces and nephews Paige, Quinn, Evan, Joseph, Adeline, Jacob, Steven and Amanda.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of memorial service 12:00 (noon) on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, Bartlett.
