Linda Johnston

April 24, 1947 — February 14, 2025

Linda Lou Johnston (nee Purvis), 77, of Streamwood, IL (formerly of Chicago, IL) passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025. She was born on April 24, 1947 in Chicago, IL to her parents James and Ethel Purvis.

Linda was the beloved wife of 44 years to the late Gene Johnston; loving mother of Suzanne (Kenneth) and Michelle; proud grandma to Justin, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Jenna and Christina and many fur babies; great-grandma “GiGi” to Aubrey and Dakota; cherished sister of the late Joyce Van Hecke, Jeanne Hennigan and Loni Harseim; loving aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews; a dear friend to many.

Linda's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed campfires, smores, cook-outs and going to Bode Lake to relax, enjoy nature and the beautiful sunsets. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Rd. Bartlett, IL 60103. Funeral will follow on Monday, March 3, 2025 with a visitation from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Service 12:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Interment Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin, IL.
