Linda Ann Brennan
March 26, 1947 – February 26, 2026
Linda Ann Brennan, 78, of Bartlett, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026 at Hearthstone Senior Living, just one week after celebrating her 55th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband, Robert.
Born on March 26, 1947, in East Cleveland, Ohio, Linda was the cherished daughter of Gordon “Bud” Blossom and Bettie Blossom. She grew up with 3 siblings, whom she adored. She graduated from Willoughby South High School.
While ice skating with friends, she boldly asked Rob to skate with her. It was the best thing that could have happened to him. They married soon after, and Linda embraced Rob’s large family as her own. Linda and Rob built a wonderful life together. Their many years of marriage were a testament to enduring love and commitment.
Linda deeply cherished her Bible Study group, her dominoes group, and the friendships she formed there. She enjoyed going to garage sales and was constantly finding little gifts for those she loved. She was a great friend and made her children’s friends feel like they were part of the family. Her kindness, steady faith, and gentle spirit were evident to all who knew her.
Linda devoted herself as a stay-at-home mother, creating a warm and loving home for her family. The family mostly enjoyed the food she made- especially her delicious chocolate chip cookies and how she “made PB&J sandwiches that were better than anyone else made.” They liked to tease her about her porkchops, which were as tender as hockey pucks and needed to be drowned in applesauce.
Above all, Linda treasured her role as wife, mother, and grandmother. She constantly supported her family, attending countless games, meets, marathons, recitals and concerts. She would go to great lengths for her family- taking care of the crying baby that everyone else was afraid to care for, watching endless “shows’ that the kids would put on, and once spending an entire day in the passenger seat so her grandson could get enough behind-the-wheel hours to get his license on his 16th birthday.
Linda developed frontotemporal dementia, but she never stopped laughing, and she somehow remembered every last word to what may be every song she had ever heard. Through Linda, we have learned to find joy even in difficult situations.
Linda’s life was defined by love, faith, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed. Her legacy will live on in the family she cherished and the many lives she touched. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert; her children, Tim (Lisa), Dan, and Brian; her grandchildren, Reilly, Jeremy, Tia, Nathaniel, and Nicholas; her siblings, Sandy, Jim, and John (Noreen) and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Bettie Blossom.
The family would like to thank the thoughtful, dedicated staff at JourneyCare hospice and Hearthwood Senior Living. The kind, compassionate staff at both organizations helped us keep Linda as happy and comfortable as possible in her familiar surroundings. They also provided untold support and care to the rest of the family during a difficult time.
If you would like to honor Linda, look for moments of joy in your life. Buy a gift for a friend. Eat a Häagen-Dazs bar. Crank up the music and sing & tap along (especially if it’s by Johnny Mathis or Elvis). And, no matter what day of the year it is, wish someone a merry Christmas.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude (ww.stjude.org) or the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (theaftd.org) would be greatly appreciated.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 9:30 am until time of Memorial Mass 10:30 at the Sacred Heart Chapel at Hearthwood, 825 Carillon Drive, Bartlett, IL 60103. Luncheon to follow.
