Leonard “Len” Rolfe Partyka, 75, of Bartlett, a loving dad and grandpa, passed away Oct. 31, 2020. He was born Sept.30, 1945, in Chicago, son of the late Leonard F. and Beverly (Rolfe) Partyka.

Len received an MBA from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and worked in the electronics industry for nearly 50 years. He was a founder and vice president of KSM Electronics Midwest Division for 38 years. His business partners, John, Steve and Mel, were like family.

Len married Barbara Berube on May 14, 1966, and they had two daughters, Holly (Jonathan) Doolittle and Cortney (Heath) Strohacker. Len was a doting father to his two girls and a loving grandfather to Savannah, Cole, Wyatt, Jonah and Grace. He shared with them a love for adventure, whether it was playing golf, skiing in Aspen, boating and water skiing in the Chain O' Lakes, or fishing and snowmobiling in northern Wisconsin. He always had a zest for life. He was a lifelong learner and shared his knowledge of history and life lessons with all those around him.

Len was always the life of a party and, when he told stories, everyone listened. He lit up the room and our hearts with his smile and ocean blue eyes. He was a diehard Cubs fan and shared his love for the game and Wrigley Field with his grandkids and family. He always dressed with style; he loved clothes, hats and leather boots.

In his younger years he donned a mustache a la Tom Selleck, and, more recently, was often mistaken for Ralph Lauren (and would graciously offer his autograph!) Len was the epitome of class. He loved classic cars and music, style and fashion, architecture, good food, and beautiful women. He lived large and loved hard.

Family was the most important thing in his world and he was always generous with his time and his money -- but mostly with his LOVE. He loved to surprise his girls -- a boat, a horse, trips and whatever else he could do to bring joy to them and to his grandkids.

He will be missed by his siblings, Patricia (Thomas) King and Terrence (Barbara) Partyka; his girlfriend Shannon Barr; He was a proud uncle to Todd (Jennifer) and Tyler Partyka, Derek Peresico, Mindy Crosby and Thomas “TK” King; and a great uncle to many. The world will not be the same without him, but his legacy will live on in the lives of the people he touched.

A celebration of Len's life will be held on Thursday, November 5th, from 2:00 pm until the time of sharing stories and memories to begin at 6:00 pm at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.) Bartlett. Cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory, Bartlett, Il.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Marklund Home, 1435 Summit Street, Elgin, Il. 60120 would be appreciated.
