Leonard G. Hornik

Leonard “Len” G Hornik, 87, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Born October 10, 1938, in Chicago. A veteran of the U.S. Army. Len enjoyed bowling, playing Pinochle, fishing and playing golf but what he loved most was spending time with family. Beloved husband of 63 years to Patricia (nee Musick); loving dad of John (Valentina) Hornik, Jenny (John) Federkins, Mike (Vicky) Hornik, Sidney Elliott (fiancé Matthew Laughlin) and Sandy (Christ) Koumoundouros; cherished grandpa of Drew (Mike), Nicholas, Kevin, Brian, Nicole, Stephanie, Bee, Kyle, Megan and great grandpa of Rowan; dear son of the late James and Elizabeth Hornik; kind brother of the late Mary Mielcarski, James Hornik, Richard Hornik, Mildred Stulgo, Robert Hornik and uncle to many. Visitation 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2025, at the Countryside Funeral Home and crematory, 950 S Bartlett Rd, Bartlett. Interment Wednesday 11:30 am at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E Euclid Ave, Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org or charity of choice would be appreciated.
