Leona Walter, 93, of Streamwood, passed away peacefully Monday, February 27 at St Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Born June 8, 1918 in Fort Madison, IA. She was the daughter of John and Irene (Nee Nemeth) Keller, two immigrants from Hungary. Leona was an extremely intelligent and thoughtful woman who loved crossword puzzles. She will best be remembered for her loving devotion to her daughter Julie who has cerebral palsy and is a resident at S.T.R.I.V.E. in Prophetstown, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel, parents, 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Visitation Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 1:00p.m. until 5:00p.m. at the Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 South Bartlett Rd (at Stearns Rd), Bartlett. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 3, 2010 from 10:00a.m. until time of service 11:00a.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 751 W Army Trail Rd, Bartlett. Cremation at the Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to the church.
