Though she was small in stature, she was a feisty woman. Lela was a dedicated volunteer at Sherman Hospital for many years. When she wasn’t working or volunteering, she would spend her days walking at the mall or going to garage sales. She loved cooking for her family and kept her home neat and clean. She would end her days with her favorite sweets or a vanilla ice cream cone.
Lela will be missed immeasurably. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was loved more than words can express.
Graveside services will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Elgin at 11am on Monday, December 12. A Celebration of Life and lunch will follow at the American Legion Elgin Post 57 at 12:30pm.
