Laurentina G. Johnston; cherished daughter of Guadalupe and the late Melchor; beloved wife of the late Brooks; loving mother of Maria "Marilu" (Scott) Elsenbroek and Victor (Crissy) Johnston; devoted grandmother of Nicole, Edward, Monica and Jazmyn; dear sister of Jamie (Maria), Rosa (Jose Juan), Javier (Maria), Diana (David), David Mario (Lynn), Angel (Jennifer) and the late Melchor (Late Lita); also, cousin, aunt, great aunt and friend of many.
Our mother Laura or as her kids, grandkids, and some of my friends called her “MA”. She will always be remembered for her love of drinking “Coka”- Coke Cola! She especially loved her Nilla wafer cookies and coffee every morning! All 4 of her grandkids have grown to love Nilla cookies too and will think of Ma every time they enjoy them. It was a great honor to have had our mother with us for many many years. She was loving, very feisty and set in her ways (stubborn), but knew she was loved! She left her mark on each of us in that special way of hers as she did! She loved to banter with me and my brother Vic oh so very often! We definitely gave it back to her, she taught us that for sure. She was a big fan of all sports - football, golf, baseball, and hockey. Her most favorite of all things were to see both my dad Brooks and brother Vic bowl. Playing bingo, going to many good meals with her family and some casino time was another favorite of hers to do recently!
She was so in love with our father Brooks, she never met anyone else waiting to see him again in afterlife. We let her know we all would be ok if she wanted to go be with our dad! Then she let go and passed on peacefully!
Now she is with her Forever Love, our father Brooks!
