Laura Murowski

Laura Murowski, 84, of South Elgin, IL passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024 peacefully at Bickford Assisted Living in St. Charles. She was born July 27, 1940, the daughter of Thomas and Lorraine Wefing, and she was united in marriage to Richard Murowski for over 60 years.



Laura grew up in New Jersey; she was a nursing student; and she worked as a Senior Technician at Northrop-Grumman for 23 years. All those who were fortunate to meet Laura were inspired by her love of life. She lived every day to the fullest, with her great sense of humor and even better sense of style, and she brightened the days of those around her. She was a wonderful mother, devoted wife, and caring grandmother–gracing her loved ones with her kindness, laughter, strength, and beauty.



She is survived by her three children (Richard Murowski, Christine Smith [Kevin], and Elizabeth Larson); five grandchildren (Derek Smith, Justin Smith, Alexa Smith, Sophia Larson, and James Larson); and four siblings (Thomas Wefing, Eva Ozyjowski, Kathy Sedgley, Sylvia Para). She is preceded in death by her by her parents Thomas and Lorraine Wefing, husband (Richard Murowski), brother (Louis Michael Wefing), and son-in-law (James Larson).



A mass for Laura will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 400 Cedar St, St. Charles (downtown location) at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 11.  For information, please contact Countryside Funeral Home, 847-289-8054.
