Kenneth P. Smith

Kenneth P. Smith, Jr. 79, of Elgin, went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2022 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Ken is survived by his wife, Linda, two children Amy (Patrick) Smith and Zack Smith, two grandchildren, Lincoln and Carter and a brother Rob.

Ken enjoyed a varied background that included being a disc jockey, radio show host, stand up comedian, actor, model, sales representative and voice-over narrator. His true passion was the Chicago Cubs and the history of baseball. Ken was a graduate of Monmouth College as well as being a U.S. Army veteran where he served in the Vietnam War. He was an active member of Christ Community Church in St. Charles, where he served on the usher and evangelism teams. He was also a valued member of several Bible studies.

A celebration of life visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022 from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm at the Countyside Funeral Home and Crematory 95 S. Gilbert St. (at Middle St.) South Elgin, Il. As part of the service please feel welcome to share any stories or favorite memories of your relationship with Ken. Cremation will be private at the Countryside Crematory. Please omit flowers.
