Karen Mae Turner began her life's journey on March 29, 1953. Born to the late William and Genevieve(Troy) Maas in Beloit, WI, where she was raised and graduated from Beloit Catholic High School. Karen attended UW LaCrosse and Emory in Atlanta and then returned home to care for her ailing mother. She was a Special Ed teacher for 3 years then moved into the business world and got her first Collie. On a whim, went on a blind date and met the love of her life Michael and they remained together for the following 42 years. She moved to Wheaton and then Roselle with her husband, and stayed in the business world working for several small manufacturing and moving companies. She decided to work for herself and opened Troy Income Tax and Bookkeeping Service which she owned for the next 23 years. During this time 4 more Collies and 5 German Shepherds(her favorites) followed. She loved sailing, swimming, sunning, skiing, the great outdoors, and eating out. Karen loved Florida and Hawaii and vacationing as well as sitting on her deck and watching the world go by or reading. Karen loved life. She was a life long fan of the Cubs, Blackhawks and Green Bay Packers. Her life's journey ended on July 6, 2020 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital with her loving husband by her side. Loving aunt of Keith(Michelle) and Michael Hadjuk and Megan and Kaylin Hadjuk. Visitation Friday, July 10 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 S. Roselle Rd.(1/2 mile south of Irving Park Rd.), Roselle. Funeral Saturday 10:30am.
