Karen M. Schmidt, 65, of Woodridge, IL passed away on September 8, 2025. She was born on October 29, 1959 in Chicago, IL to her parents Harold and Geraldine Johnson.
Karen loved to spend time outdoors camping, gardening, planting flowers, also watering her garden as well as spending time with her loving animals. She was an avid fisherman, enjoyed swimming and could always be seen reading or listening to her audiobooks.
She is the beloved wife of 45 years to Dave Schmidt; loving mother of Heather Anne and David Schmidt; cherished grandmother of Lilly Elizabeth; loving sister of the late Barbara, Roy, the late Chipper, the late Bernadette, Billy and Beverly.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm with a service at 7:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 S. Greenmeadows Blvd. Streamwood, IL 60107. A private cremation will be held after at Countryside Crematory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen’s name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
