Karen Elizabeth Peters (née Seputis) beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, at 11:20 p.m. surrounded by her loving family. She was 81 years old.
Born on December 11, 1943 to the late Pauline (née Labanauskas) and the late Charles J. Seputis, Karen grew up in Oak Lawn, Illinois, and later made her home in Itasca. Throughout her life, she was known for her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit. She always thought of others before herself, quietly putting their needs and happiness ahead of her own with love and grace.
Karen was the devoted wife of Jon Michael Peters, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories. She was a proud and loving mother to her daughters Jennifer (David) Ortiz and Julie (Curtis) Dillman, and a deeply cherished grandmother to Mackenzie, Ryan, Kaitlyn, and McKenna. Family meant everything to Karen, and she poured her heart into every moment with them.
She is also survived by her brother, Charles Seputis Sr, and her dear niece and nephew, Mary Beth Seputis and Charles (Stacy) Seputis Jr, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Karen’s legacy is one of compassion, strength, and selfless love. Her presence will be deeply missed, but will live on in the lives she touched.
Visitation Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm with a memorial service at 5:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 333 S. Roselle Rd. (1/2 mile south of Irving Park Rd.), Roselle. Inurnment Thursday, July 17 at 12 noon at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Karen’s memory to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
