Karen Lee(nee Geils) Ham, formerly of Roselle, IL, died peacefully at age 83 on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Friendship Village in Schaumburg, IL. She was the only child of Alfred “Johnny” & Marguerite Geils, born in Illinois on October 2, 1938. On April 19, 1958, she married William E. Ham who preceded her in death by 17 years. She was a faithful wife caring for Bill for 12 years after his stroke.
 
 Karen was baptized, confirmed, graduated elementary school and married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Roselle.  She was a 1956 graduate of Glenbard Township High School.  She remained a lifelong member of Trinity and was a faithful follower of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and was looking forward to meeting Him face to face.
 
 Karen was employed by Milwaukee Road for many years and also assisted her husband in the insurance business after his stroke.  After her husband’s death, Karen spent many days volunteering at Trinity.
 
 Karen’s hobbies over the years included bowling, golfing, stitching, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, and collecting teddy bears and Hummel figurines.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, was devoted to her poodles, Cotton & Cricket, and loved decorating her home for all holidays.  Karen also enjoyed spending weekends at their lake home in Wisconsin.  Her beautiful smile and kindness will be remembered by many relatives and friends.
 
 A funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Roselle on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with viewing at Trinity an hour before the service. Interment Trinity Lutheran Cemetery
