Justine "Cookie" Bekin

Justine D. "Cookie" Bekin (nee Stanish), 83, of the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago her whole life, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025. An avid baker and gardener, Cookie was always complemented for her gorgeous red hair. She enjoyed spending time decorating her home for all the seasons. Beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Bekin; loving mother of Mark (Sandy) Bekin, Gail (Tom Ruszkowski) Bekin, and Jodi (David) Cook; devoted grandmother of Joey (Ashley) Bekin, David Cook, Jr., and Kaitlin Cook; proud great grandmother of Chloe and Sammy; dear sister of the late Anita (the late Richard) Vysther; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; affectionately known as "Gramma Cookie" to many family members and friends. Cremation private at Countryside Crematory. Family and friends will meet Saturday, October 11 at 10:30am for Memorial Mass at Our Lady of the Holy Family Church 1334 W. Flournoy, Chicago, IL.
