June Lamantia

June Victoria (Kapsa) LaMantia, 92, of Streamwood, died peacefully Monday, January 3rd, 2022. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 10th, 1929. She attended Morton Highschool in Berwyn. June married the late Thomas LaMantia in 1953 and they were happily married 61 years. Mother of, Deborah Rzewnicki (Patrick McDougall), Paul LaMantia, the late Lisa LaMantia and Vicki Manning (Lloyd). June is lovingly remembered by all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ryan and Ashley LaMantia, Alan, Ami, and Lorelei Rzewnicki, Darci, Rob, Konrad, and Violet Grum, Tory LaMantia, and Olivia and Julia Manning.
June’s contributions to the lives of many included, serving her family, community and animals. She was involved in PTO, Sports Boosters and served in various positions with the Streamwood Junior Women's Club for over 50 years. Her love of animals led her to a position as a Veterinarian Technician. She worked at the Wise Road Animal Hospital up until 80 years of age. Anyone who crossed paths with June knows she had a heart of gold and loved life. At this time no services are scheduled, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation is being handled privately by Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, South Elgin.
