Judith Lynne Collins

Judith Lynne Collins, age 80, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, at her home after a short journey with cancer, leaving behind a lifetime of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Judy was the beloved daughter of Charles and Florence Fenner, who preceded her in death.

Judy dedicated part of her career to nurturing young minds as a preschool teacher, a role that reflected her gentle spirit and caring heart. Above all else, she was devoted to her family. She shared an extraordinary bond with her husband, William (Bill), and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Their 56-year marriage was the foundation of a home filled with warmth, encouragement and unconditional love. Judy found her greatest joy in raising their three children, celebrating her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and creating lasting memories with the family she cherished so deeply.

Judy is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 56 years, William; her daughter, Kelly Marcum and her husband, Thomas, along with their children, Collin (Ellie) Marcum, Emily (Nick) Conklen, Megan and Matthew Marcum, and two great-grandchildren; her daughter, Laurie Cichon and her husband, Kevin, and their children, William and Paige Cichon; and her son, Bryan Collins and his wife, Candice, and their children, Katelyn and Erin Collins; as well as her dear sister, Jean Truss and her husband, Lawrence, and many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends, whom she enjoyed and cared for immensely.

Judy’s legacy is one of grace, compassion, quiet strength, and love. She celebrated every success, offered encouragement through every challenge, and reminded those she loved that they were enough, just as they were. Though she will be deeply missed, her gentle spirit, generous heart, and the lessons she taught through her words and example will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Judith to Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
