Joyce Murnane

Joyce R. Murnane (née Olsted), 82, of Bloomingdale and formerly of Glendale Heights, Illinois, passed away on September 17, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born in Chicago on July 21, 1943, to Catherine and Clell Olsted, Joyce was married to her high school sweetheart, Richard, for 61 years until his passing in May 2025. Together, they built a life centered on love and family.

Joyce was the devoted mother of James (Kathie) and Kevin (Nicki); proud grandmother to Jamie, Christopher, Shawn, Brittany, Spike, Kari, and Gia; and adoring great-grandmother to Dylan, Brayden, Ava, and Riley. She was the devoted sister and lifelong best friend to Lorie and Paul (Char), and dear aunt, cousin, and friend whose kindness touched many lives.

Family was always Joyce’s greatest joy. Her home was always open, a place where family and friends gathered, laughed, and felt at ease around her table.

Joyce spent countless weekends and summers at the family's lake house in Wisconsin, making lasting memories with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She enjoyed crafting, particularly crocheting, as well as cooking and baking. Joyce was especially known for her traditional Polish favorites, including pierogi and kolaczki.

Joyce will be remembered most for her unwavering love and the warmth she gave so freely.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and her brother, Paul.
