Joseph John Tomasone passed away on March 16, 2025, in South Elgin, Illinois. Born on February 8, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, Joseph lived a life marked by dedication to his family, a strong work ethic, and a passion for technology and automobiles.
Joseph pursued his education at Oak School, York High School, and Addison Trail High School. His commitment to learning extended beyond traditional schooling as he attended night classes to earn a technology degree and graduated with honors. His deep interest in electronics, computers, and emerging technologies reflected his lifelong curiosity and drive for knowledge.
A hardworking and skilled professional, Joseph built a successful career as an Operating Engineer with Local 150. His expertise and dedication were evident throughout his professional life.
Beyond his career, Joseph had a lifelong love for hot-rod cars, particularly Corvettes and Trans Ams. Over the years, he owned many of these beloved vehicles. He also had a deep love for animals, caring for family pets with great affection and taking pleasure in feeding birds and other wildlife. His kindness extended to all creatures, reflecting a gentle spirit that those around him cherished.
Joseph is survived by his children Gina, Joseph (and daughter-in-law Danielle), and Christopher (and daughter-in-law Desiree); grandchildren Paige Palubicki, Brooke Palubicki, Mia Tomasone, Ava 'Tomasone, and Christopher Jr. Tomasone; mother-in-law Patricia Pollard; siblings Tino (and sister-in-law Debbie), Michael (and sister-in-law Suzie), Eda (and brother-in-law Steve), Cindy (and brother-in-law Robert), and Steve (and sister-in-law Deanie); as well as many nieces, nephews, and others who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents Eda (Brunicardi) Tomasone and Joseph Tomasone, as well as his beloved wife Kathleen (Janaes) Tomasone.
A visitation will be held on March 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Countryside Funeral Home, 95 South Gilbert Street, South Elgin, Illinois. A funeral service will take place on March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location, followed by interment at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery in Palatine.
Joseph's memory will live on through the lives he touched. May his legacy bring comfort to those who knew him.
