Joseph Tomaeno

Joseph Anthony Tomaeno, Jr., born September 19, 1943, in Cicero IL, and passed away on July 2, 2023 in Bartlett, IL. Joe was raised by his parents Joseph Tomaeno Sr. and Virginia Tomaeno (Conte). He leaves behind a sister Marijane and brother in law Jorge Campos, a daughter Thea and a son Joel by his first wife Judith (Baca). He married his second wife Shirley in 1997, and was very close to Shirley’s son Scott and her daughter Heather. He was devoted to his granddaughter Zsa Zsa and to his grandsons Miles and Cole. Joe served his country proudly in the US Marines in Vietnam and in Operation Desert Storm, and also served in the Marine Corps Reserve until his retirement in 2003. He worked as an electrician until his retirement in 2005 but he was also an expert gunsmith and an avid firearms enthusiast. He was especially proud of his gun shop on 16th Street in Berwyn IL. He loved to drive his antique cars and could often be found in his garage restoring them. He also loved to build or make things for friends and family, from toys to gadgets to furniture. A memorial visitation will be held on July 18, 2023 from 10:00am until time of memorial Mass 11:00am at St. Peter Damian Church, 109 S. Crest Ave., Bartlett, IL. Entombment Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Hillside, IL on July 20.
