Joseph Skibinski

Joseph J. Skibinski, 86; beloved husband of the late June (nee Shewski); loving father of John (Laurie), Jody, Jeff (Joan), Jeanne (Todd) Oelerich and Jim (Kim); caring grandfather of Marissa, Anna, Sydney, Julia, Tyler, Katelyn and Olivia; fond brother of Richard (Dolores). The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Brookdale and Rommel, his caregiver.

Joseph was a graduate of Chicago Vocational High School and received a Master’s Degree in Education from Purdue University. He served in the Army during the Korean War. An NFL Alumnus, Joseph played for the Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers and New York Giants. He was a teacher and coach at Lasalle-Peru Township High School. He was known for his faith, love of family and friends and was an avid fisherman.

Visitation Saturday, August 22nd 10:00 am at St. Marcelline Church, 820 S. Springinsguth Rd., Schaumburg until Memorial Mass, 11:00 am. Cremation was private at the Countryside Crematory.
