It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph W. Scheffki, a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Joseph left us unexpectedly on Saturday, January 24th, 2026, at the age of 38. Born in Elgin, IL, on Tuesday, May 26th, 1987, he remained a lifelong resident of his hometown, deeply cherished by all who knew him.
Joseph will be remembered fondly as a talented mechanic, whose hands were always deft at fixing not only engines but also brightening the days of those around him. His love for mechanics extended beyond his occupation into his hobbies, where he took great joy in working on and driving R.C. cars. He was a member of the community who shared a deep affection for dogs, an avid fisherman, and outdoorsman, who found tranquility in nature's embrace.
More than anything, Joseph cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted parents, Christopher Scheffki and Pamela (Gary Krebs) Owens, and his loving siblings, Christopher (Benita) Scheffki and Gracie Anna Owens. He was the proud uncle of his niece, Olivia Scheffki, and shared his life with his long-time girlfriend, Ashley Joslyn, who was a constant source of happiness and support.
To honor Joseph's remarkable life, a visitation will be held at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory, 1640 S. Greenmeadows Blvd. Streamwood, IL, on Thursday, January 29th, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a funeral service at 7:00 pm. A private cremation will follow. For information, please contact Countryside Funeral Home, 630-289-8054.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
