Jose Martinez

Jose Duran Martinez, of Glendale Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 22, 2014 after a long battle with Leukemia. Jose was the beloved husband of Maria (nee Rodriguez) for 58 years;
loving father of Juanita “Janie” (Joe) Pasternak, Jesse Martinez, Jack Martinez, Janet (Angelo “Bob”) Chapa, Diana (Clarence) Penge and Cindy Martinez; proud grandfather of Jacklyn (James) Feldpausch, Anita (Mike) Lapa, Christine (Don) Knoll, Alexandra Chapa, Sylvia (Jimmy) Moran, Natalie (Eric) Luna, Nicky and Olivia Chapa, Ryan, Malorie, Gabriella, and Isabella Penge; great grandfather of Donny Knoll, Max Lapa, Julia Feldpausch, Nikko Luna, Lucy Fuller and Jordyn Moran. A Marine veteran Jose liked to run, and he loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also enjoyed working as a crossing guard for Glendale Heights.
Visitation for Jose Sunday, August 24, 3:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. service will be 6:00p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Road) Bartlett. Following services cremation will take place privately at Countryside Crematory.
