Jorge Martinez

Jorge L. Martinez, 78, of Bartlett, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025. An Air Force Veteran, Jorge was a retired police officer and detective for Hanover Park and former police officer for Bensenville and Metra. He was awarded for courageously saving a citizen's life while on duty. He was an avid musician who enjoyed singing and playing guitar. Beloved father of Heather Ann Martinez, Sarah (Anthony) Simonelli, and Christina (Ricardo) Jasso; proud grandfather of Ricky, Sarina, Max, Winnie, and Michael; cherished brother of Felicita Claudio, Gloria Nieves, Robert (Marta) Martinez, Moises Martinez, Edwarda (Tony) Diaz, Edgardo (Jenny) Martinez, the late Santina Martinez, the late Ramon Martinez, the late Maritza Martinez, and the late Carlos Rivera; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; former husband of Margaret (nee Gomez) Martinez. Visitation Wednesday, March 26 from 9:30am until time of service 11:30am at Countryside Funeral Home and Crematory 950 South Bartlett Rd. (at Stearns Rd.), Bartlett. Interment Montrose Cemetery.
