Jonathan David Christensen

Jonathan David Christensen went to be with Jesus on August 7, 2026 at the age of 67. Born in Elgin, IL on September 27, 1958, Jonny grew up in a loving Christian household and carried those early lessons throughout his life.

Over the years, he built a life centered on family, faith, work, service and community. Jon was known as a loving brother, "Funcle" (the fun uncle) and one who loved his nieces and great nieces and nephew well. He also had an incredible servant heart and was always available to help with anyone in need but especially those from church and was known as the resident Tech Guy for Riverside Community Church. Jon also loved his work and enjoyed the comradery he had with his coworkers and some that even spanned 30+ years.

He leaves behind his sister, Carol (Mike) Seymour, brother Tommy Christensen, nieces Alynn (Tom) Kluczynski, Stephanie (Austin) Glass, Alissa (Eddie) Smith, Troy Seymour, Jenny (Don) Schadle, Keri (Kenny) Christensen-Baker, Jackie Christensen, and great nieces and nephews Caitlyn (Mario) Garcia, Kelsey Schadle, Riley Kluczynski, Mackenzie Glass, Nevaeh Baker, Haley Schadle, Jayden Baker, Ben Glass, Liam Seymour, Mia Smith, Mason Smith, Elijah Russell Baker, Larsen Seymour and Heleena Baker; preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Marilyn Christensen, brother Carl Christensen and great niece Peyton Schadle.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Riverside Community Church, 37W130 Crane Road, St. Charles, IL 60175. Visitation will begin at 8:30 A.M. until time of service at 9:30 A.M. A procession to Lakewood Cemetery, 30W730 US Highway 20, in Elgin will follow the services at church. Following the burial friends are invited to join the family back at the church for a light lunch and time to share stories.

Jon’s legacy of faith and service will continue in the lives of all who loved him.
