John Tuminaro

May 2, 1934 — February 12, 2026

Bartlett

We are heartbroken to share that John passed away on Thursday, February 12. Whether you knew him as a devoted husband, Dad, Grampa, Great-Grampa, uncle, JT, UJ, or dear friend, you knew a man whose kindness and generosity knew no limits. He was gentle and loving, endlessly giving, and always ready with a joke or a story—often one that hinted at his slightly mischievous younger days. He truly believed that duct tape and bungee cords could fix just about anything… and somehow, he usually proved it.

John lived a full and vibrant life. From an early love of trucks, cars, and motorcycles to woodworking, golf, and proudly serving two years in the Army, he embraced every chapter with enthusiasm. If you needed a light bulb changed, a midnight ride, help finishing a basement, furniture rearranged, a babysitter, or even assistance creating costumes for a musical—he was there. No hesitation. No complaints. Just love in action. And if you couldn’t find him for a little while, chances were he was enjoying one of his favorite pastimes: a good nap… though he would insist he was simply “resting his eyes.”

After completely falling for his granddogs, John dedicated more than 20 years to volunteering with Adopt A Husky, helping at events, coordinating food for hikes, running sales, and even building shelving units. He showed up for his children and grandchildren the same way—faithfully attending dance recitals, musicals, concerts, benefits, graduations, weddings, ball games and countless celebrations. If it mattered to you, it mattered to him.

John is the beloved husband of 42 years to Nora; loving father of the late Vincent, Diane; loving stepfather of Donald Ramsell, Michael (Noel) Dagley, and Kristine Ramsell; cherished grandpa of Jonathan (Meghan), Gaetano (Kaitlyn), Kevin (Becca) Hoy, Corey, Alexandra (Gino) Castiglione, Shannon (Nick) Arnold; Jenni Schwab, Jennifer, Brenda, and Anne Dowd; proud great-grandpa of Vincent, Dante, Hudson, Walter, Alexis, Chloe, Olivia, Aubrey, Everleigh, Bianca, Leni, Gemma, and Valentina; beloved son of the late Santo and Dorothea; loving brother of Mary Young, the late Santo and the late Philip; dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.

We find comfort knowing he is no longer in pain, walking freely again, reunited with the many family members and friends who went before him. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be planned in the near future.

Rest in peace, John. Love you always.
